About Rosella
For more than two decades, I've helped garden owners across Staines and Surrey stop feeling overwhelmed by their outdoor space — and start feeling excited about it. I believe every garden, however tired or awkward, is holding a beautiful version of itself just waiting for a little direction.
My Story
My relationship with gardens began the way many do — at the edge of my grandmother's Surrey plot, elbow-deep in warm soil, learning that patience and observation matter far more than fancy tools. That early fascination never left me.
I trained formally in horticulture and garden design, then spent years working across private gardens, cottage borders and challenging suburban plots throughout Middlesex and Surrey. Along the way I learned that the best gardens aren't the most expensive ones — they're the ones designed thoughtfully around the people who live in them.
Today, from my base at Weir Place in Staines, I work as an independent gardening consultant. No sales pressure, no jargon — just honest, encouraging advice from someone who has spent a lifetime falling deeper in love with the craft.
You're not alone
Most people who call me aren't struggling because they don't care — they care deeply, but they feel stuck. If you recognise yourself below, you're exactly the sort of gardener I love to help.
A blank or overgrown space can feel paralysing. Together we'll break it into calm, achievable steps that make sense for you.
Usually it's the wrong plant in the wrong spot — not you. I'll match planting to your soil, light and lifestyle.
A well-planned garden gives you colour and interest across all four seasons — not just a brief summer flourish.
There's endless advice online. I cut through it with clear, tailored recommendations for your garden specifically.
New home, mature mess? We'll identify what's worth keeping and shape a realistic plan to reclaim it.
Your garden should reflect you. My job is to draw out your ideas and give them shape and structure.
My Approach
I design around your soil, aspect and climate — so plants thrive with less effort, water and heartache.
You'll always understand what I'm recommending and why. No mystery, no upselling — just clarity.
Great gardens are built in phases. I'll help you prioritise so your money goes where it matters most.
I plan for year-round interest, so there's always something to notice, love and look forward to.

Behind the friendly conversation is real depth — a formal grounding in horticulture and design, combined with hands-in-the-soil experience across hundreds of local gardens. I know Surrey's clay, Staines' river-side conditions, and the quirks of suburban plots intimately.
But qualifications only get you so far. What clients value most is that I keep learning, keep listening, and treat every garden as a living conversation between you, the place, and the seasons.
"Rosella made us feel excited about our garden for the first time in years. She listened, understood exactly what we wanted, and gave us a plan we could actually follow. Genuinely lovely to work with."
